Scott,

First of all, THANK YOU so much for reading my article. Ha, I honestly didn’t think it would get as much interest as it did. Thank you.

As for your question about the apprenticeship-thing, well, it was actually through contacts and connections, and, it’s like you have to know how to make connections, you know, linking with people. I used LinkedIn. It’s a bit of an art maybe? Hmm. My school, General Assembly, where I studied UX Design at, our career coach told us that one of the best ways to get a job is informal interviews. She said that we should look up UX Designers on LinkedIn and just message everyone something like “Hey, my name is… recently I got interested in UX design and I’m trying to learn more about it. I don’t know too much right now, but I’d really love to learn more, just other people’s experiences and journeys. Would you have time to talk to me about yours sometime?” Something like that. I did that, and I got A LOT of coffee dates and phone interviews, and just starting chat conversations with other UX designers. I got a lot of connections that way. People love to talk and to share their experiences and journeys and stuff, you know? I’d suggest you do that and go from there. Also, people love to teach others and to share their knowledge. Let me know if you have more questions. See! I just shared stuff with you cause you asked, haha. It’s that easy.
